At Prime Nurture, supporting children is at the heart of everything we do, not just in care settings, but across our wider community too. That’s why we’re proud to be sponsoring a local girls’ football team, coached by none other than our very own Business Development Manager, Ben. We caught up with him to hear more about his new role on the pitch, what it means to give back to his community, and how sport and support go hand in hand.
For Ben, this new role isn’t just about football — it’s about giving back, staying connected to what matters, and continuing to be a positive role model for young people, both inside and outside of work.
“It felt like the right time to step up,” Ben shares. “My daughter’s involved, and I’ve always believed in giving kids strong role models outside the home. With my background in children’s care, I’ve seen first-hand the impact structured activities and consistent mentors can have on a child’s life. Since my role is now more office based, I’ve missed supporting children with their goals.”
Balancing a full-time role at Prime Nurture with coaching duties is no small task, but for Ben, it’s been deeply rewarding. “It’s definitely a juggle,” he admits, “but because I genuinely see Prime Nurture as an extension of my own values — and because they’re so supportive of me and even my family — it’s something I’m proud to involve them in. Supporting kids both inside and outside of work creates a nice sense of purpose.”
When the opportunity for shirt sponsorship came up, Prime Nurture was a natural choice. “I had a few options, but Prime Nurture made the most personal and professional sense. Our passion for supporting local children is something I share deeply, so it felt natural to make that link.”
Now, with the team proudly wearing kits bearing the Prime Nurture logo, the impact is already being felt. “It’s huge,” says Ben. “For the team, it creates a sense of identity and pride. For me, it shows that the company I work for genuinely cares about making a difference in the community — and that matters. As we are still a fairly new company, members of the local community haven’t had the chance to see the amazing work we do for children in our care. This is one small but meaningful way to raise awareness.”
Ben has already seen the rewards of coaching in the smiles and confidence of the young players. “Seeing the kids grow in confidence, build friendships, and just enjoy the game has been the best part. And of course, watching my daughter out there with a smile on her face is something I’ll never get tired of. I loved seeing the kit design come out with the Prime Nurture Services logo on it.”
The connection between Ben’s work and his coaching is more than symbolic.
“Absolutely, there are similarities,” he says. “It’s all about consistency, encouragement, and creating a space where young people can grow. Whether that’s in a care setting or on the pitch, the principles are the same.”
So, what does the future hold for the team?
“Fun — that’s the big word for me. I just want the girls to have fun. Hopefully we can make some progress and great memories. If the girls enjoy themselves, grow a bit in confidence, and look back on the season with pride — I’ll call that a win. Go Stripes!”
Whether it’s in a home or on the football field, giving young people the chance to grow, thrive, and feel supported is what drives us. We’re proud to back Ben and the team as they head into the new season — and we can’t wait to cheer them on every step of the way.
